Grade Repair Opportunities

Since English is a skills-based subject, it is extremely import that students improve their writing and reading comprehension skills through revision and practice. For that reason, I allow the following in order to achieve this goal:

-Test Corrections on Any Test (This is for half-credit recovery.)
-Essay Re-Write for Any Essay (This is available for full credit recovery.)

Requirements for Credit Recovery
-Student MUST schedule a time after school or during LASSO in order to take advantage of this opportunity.
-This is only available within two weeks of the assessment (test/essay).
-Students must provide planning documents (TIDIDE sheets, intro/conclusion organizer) in order to re-write the essay.
-The essay must be written during scheduled time while in my classroom. Essays cannot rewritten at home and submitted electronically.


***IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER*** This is NOT an opportunity to save your grade--this is an opportunity to increase your skills which will then raise your grade. Each time you revise an essay or do test corrections, the likelihood of being more successful on the next test is greater. For that reason, I will not allow essay rewrites/test corrections as a last ditch effort at the end of the year to pull up your grade. Please be mindful of the two week time limit and plan accordingly.
